ABOUT US

As I was ministering in a women’s prison in Texas, I heard the Holy Spirit whisper, “Purchased Innocence.” I knew immediately it was the title of the book about my life. He was in fact, at that moment, commissioning me to put the life of pain I had endured into a book. Two days after hearing the title of the book, the Holy Spirit fell on me and produced a thirty-page outline of what would become the book, in two and a half hours, which was written by hand. I went on to give the written testimony in Houston, Texas where it was confirmed I was called to write a book. I was excited yet scared, because I did not want to reveal the identity of someone whom God had led me to forgive for abusing me when I was a kid. I began praying to God asking Him for wisdom so that I could write the book. He spoke to my

heart, “Love covers a multitude of sins and your testimony won’t be built on the backs of those who have hurt you, but on Me!” The Holy Spirit began ministering to me and telling me that my focus had always been on what was done to me and what Satan stole from me, but He wants me to focus on what Jesus purchased for me with His own precious blood. Here was a great exchange that took place when the Holy Spirit got ahold of my heart and began to birth compassion, mercy, love, and forgiveness for those who hurt me.

I always planned to write a book and in addition to the name being changed from Stolen Innocence to Purchased Innocence, there was also an exchange evident in the meaning behind my book cover. Two years before this encounter with the Holy Spirit I had stumbled on this red handprint on google images. At this time, I was still bitter and angry and planned to write a book to expose everyone that hurt me in life. I can now see I wore the identity of a victim. Originally, I visualized this red handprint being in finger-paint to symbolize the innocence of childhood and to symbolize the memories that seemed to be etched so deep in my soul, that it kept me bound in that time and at that age.

Well, that all changed the moment I was given the name Purchased Innocence as the Holy Spirit began to minister the new meaning of that same handprint. He spoke to my heart that the red paint now signifies His blood and the handprint is the identifying mark of the “new” man, much like a fingerprint, that proved that by His blood I was purchased, and my identity is now found in Him. It was the manifestation of going from victim to victor. “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).”

Two years after the book was written and in the editing process, I heard the Holy Spirit speak “Purchased Innocence Project.” I knew immediately that what started as a book was now being birthed into a ministry. I began to ask Him why that name and told him how there was already a non-profit called The Innocence Project (as if He didn’t know). He told me the following, “The Innocence Project only advocates for those who are not guilty, but I came to advocate and purchase the innocence for those who are guilty (all man-kind).” He continued telling me that in addition to our guilt being wiped away through His blood being shed that we could also have our purity and innocence that the enemy stole through child-hood sexual abuse and other sins restored to us.

All services and ministries provided through the Purchased Innocence Project are to bring glory to Jesus Christ as the gospel of salvation is preached and the power of His resurrection is made known to the world by lives being redeemed, delivered, healed, and transformed!

Statement of Faith

We believe that there is one God eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

(Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, Luke 1:35, John 10:30, 2 Corinthians 3:17, 2 Corinthians 13:14, John 1:14, Ephesians 4:4-6)

We believe the Bible is the written revealed will of God to all mankind. It is God-inspired, infallible, and without error in the original manuscripts and continues to be preserved throughout all the ages. It reveals the character of God and gives the standard for which we judge all things in every generation.

(2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Isaiah 40:8, Hebrews 6:18)

We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He came to save us from our sins and was fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life, making Him the only acceptable sacrifice for our sins. We believe in His miracles, His death on the cross, His burial, and on the third day His bodily resurrection and ascension to heaven, where He is now seated at the right hand of the Father. Jesus is the only Mediator between God the Father and man and Jesus is constantly making intercession on our behalf. Jesus will be returning to earth in all power and glory!

(John 3:16, 1 Timothy 2:5, John 1:1, Philippians 2:5-11, John 8:58, Hebrews 4:15, John 14:6, Titus 2:13, John 1:1-3, Hebrews 1:3, Matthew 1:23, 1 Timothy 3:16, Luke 1:35, Isaiah 9:6,)

We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit and that it is by His power that we are regenerated when we become a believer in Jesus Christ and enables believers to live a godly life as in accordance with the scriptures.

(John 3:5-8, Titus 3:5, Acts 2:38-39, 2 Corinthians 3:18, 1 Corinthians 6:11)

We believe man was created in the image of God, but because of sin that entered the world through the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. This separated mankind from God and the only way to be brought back into fellowship with God is through accepting His gift of salvation through His Jesus’s death, burial, and resurrection. We receive Jesus Christ by faith and not works. Professing Him to be our Lord and Savior is the only way to spend eternity in heaven with God and not eternally separated from God in hell.

(Genesis 1:27, Genesis 3, Isaiah 59:2, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:10, Matthew 25:46, Romans 6:23, 2 Thessalonians 1:9, John 3:36)

We believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end. We believe in being a safe place for those who have participated in abortions to receive healing. We believe in the forgiveness of sins through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, including abortions. We desire to educate those considering abortions from a biblical view and provide the necessary support for them emotionally, spiritually, and physically in hopes to save unborn lives and protect the mother from the trauma that is experienced through abortion.

We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage, that God created man and woman as unique biological persons made to complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between one genetic male and one genetic female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. The Purchased Innocence Project is against victimization and violence of those identifying as LGBTQ and will always share the truth in love. We realize there is often underlying trauma that is the root of this lifestyle and we desire to educate those in that lifestyle of the complete healing and freedom found in Jesus Christ.

(Genesis 1:27, Genesis 5:2, 2 Corinthians 5:17)
